LMP Day Success!

We did great, thanks to you! Whatever work your involved, your greatest contribution was your participation. I apologize for the initial confusion as the tree planting teams got sorted out. The pictures tell the story, not the whole story, because some of your work on camp loops, roads, beaches and gardens did not get captured. The great pictures we do have were taken by Joan Trivilino and Casey Sukeforth.

The day was a bit chilly and damp, but spirits were high, and much work was completed. Many thanks to the Park Staff who were there to help wherever needed.

Jonathan Duda of Parks and Trails, NY was there visiting as many groups as possible and experiencing some of what the Park has to offer. He was “over the moon” impressed with those of you, who volunteered, and the Park. He said much larger parks and population areas downstate do not have the kind of participation we did, and also noted the happiness and positivity he was witnessing in weather that, downstate, would have kept people home.

He said he can’t wait to come back in the winter to ski. He also said he was the first from Parks and Trails to venture this far North and that the park was a hidden gem. He encouraged us to continue to apply for grants because we demonstrate exactly what PTNY are looking for, especially to apply for grants that improve accessibility and inclusion.

Anyone with an idea? I have one handicap-a accessible dock and a reworked parking area for the boat launch.

Thank you again for answering the challenge.
